From bioluminescent corals to deep vent worms, the oceans remain a vast frontier of discovery and wonder. Bring the excitement of current ocean science discoveries to your students using NOAA Ocean Exploration lesson plan activities and the Ocean Explorer website (www.oceanexplorer.noaa.gov). Join Ocean Exploration Facilitator Charlene Dindo as you do inquiry-and standards-based activities tied directly to real ocean explorations from the Galapagos Rift to the Arctic Ocean.
Participants will receive a continental breakfast; lunch; the curriculum Learning Ocean Science through Ocean Exploration, with CD-ROM's; Certificates of Participation; the opportunity to tour the Sea Lab's Estuarium; and more.
The second part of the workshop will be held on March 14 - educators will then have an opportunity to share their use of OE activities and the Web site; participate in additional lesson plan activities; and receive more materials and updates about NOAA Ocean Exploration expeditions. Registration is required and space is limited.
