What menacing events are threatening the coasts and waters of our
beloved Gulf Coast? The phenomena enacted by the Greedy Goblins’
Global Warming, of course! Join us for a spooky evening of
kid-friendly games, activities and education as we learn how to
battle the warming forces of the Greedy Goblins.
Games for children of all ages will be held under Horizon Hall, on
the South Campus of the Sea Lab. Admission to the event is free.
Reduced Estuarium admission is $3. Tickets to the game are .50 and
$1 each. Food and drinks are available.
Exhibits, games and contests will be designed to teach visitors
about the causes and effects of global warming, and what we can do
to combat those effects to be good stewards of our environment.
Lowe’s Home Improvement and Sylvania is sponsoring a light bulb
switch out. Each family that brings an incandescent light bulb from
home will receive a free compact fluorescent light bulb, one bulb
per family, as long as supplies last. These cost-efficient bulbs
will reduce energy needs in our homes and in our community, thereby
reducing the amount of carbon dioxide released in the atmosphere.
All proceeds will benefit the Dauphin Island Sea Lab science and
education programs. The Sea Lab is Alabama’s only resource to offer
marine science education to students from kindergarten through Ph.D.
The Foundation is seeking sponsors and volunteers for this
worthwhile event. All sponsors will be recognized at the event and
on all publicity before and after the event. If you wish to be a
