The mysteries of the
marsh are revealed as families go seining at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab
on Saturday, October 7,2006. Families are invited to come down to the
Sea Lab to enjoy the splendors of Dauphin Island and learn about the
animals and habitats of this coastal barrier island.
This special program, sponsored by Fresh Air Family Program, will
feature a touch lab, marsh seining and a visit to the Sea Lab’s
Estuarium – activities designed to encourage families to enjoy the
wonders of the Gulf Coast both at the Sea Lab and, more importantly, on
their own.
Fresh Air Family was created by outdoor enthusiast and journalist Verna
Gates to “teach that every living thing deserves respect. To connect
youth with nature. To build families and future leaders. To build pride
in Alabama and our natural wealth. “
Space is limited – call (251) 861-7515 or e-mail dkeaton@disl.org to
enroll and for further information. Fees applied.
