Contact: Lisa Young 251/861-7509 What: Weeklong Teacher Workshop at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab – MAST (Marine Applications of Science and Technology) Where: Dauphin Island Sea Lab When: June 20-25, 2004 Fee: Free, plus teacher will receive $100 stipend The Dauphin Island Sea Lab is introducing an exciting teacher workshop titled “MAST” or “Marine Applications of Science and Technology.” Funded by the No Child Left Behind Act, this workshop introduces the educator to the excitement of first-hand marine science research and fieldwork. Teachers will explore disciplines as varied as oceanography, salt marsh ecology, climatology and fisheries management. Teachers will receive free tuition, room and board, classroom curricula and field trips. They will also receive a $100 stipend.
