"Do fish sleep?"
"How are clams born?"
"Why is the ocean salty?"

Now therešs a book to answer all your childrenšs (and your own) basic questions about the marine environment. "My First Big Book of Questions and Answers: Under the Sea" has just been released by Publications International, Ltd.šs Leap Frog, and was written by the husband-and-wife team of scientists Dr. Monty Graham and Laura Linn of the Dauphin Island Sea Lab.

This board book is filled with basic questions that may leave lots of parents scratching their heads; but with the easy-to-understand answers, parents and kids will emerge better informed and even amused. The colorful illustrations and sturdy pages will keep even the littlest scientists entertained.

As a senior marine scientist and marine chemist at the Sea Lab, Dr. Graham and Ms. Linn normally write for peer-reviewed journals and other scientific publications. Was writing for children more of a challenge for them? Not with their sons 10-year-Rollie and 9-year-old Trevor giving them advice as their toughest critics.

"We got four thumbs up, between the two them," said Dr. Graham.

"My First Big Book of Questions and Answers: Under the Sea" is available for $14.95 at the Estuarium Gift Shop at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab.
