Post Doctoral Position: Dauphin Island Sea Lab & Grand Bay NERR
The Dauphin Island Sea Lab (DISL) and Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (GBNERR) invite applications for a two-year post-doctoral position in Environmental Modeling. We recently obtained funding to develop a general model of impacts of anthropogenic watershed occupation on the sustainability of coastal resources. We are now looking for an environmental scientist with superior quantitative and modeling skills and knowledge of coastal ecosystems. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with DISL and GBNERR faculty and staff to (1) complete a base model specific to shallow coastal lagoons in Perdido Bay, FL, (2) amend the Perdido Bay model to the watershed and coastal water bodies of the GBNERR, and (3) build a generic model applicable to diverse areas in the Northern Gulf of Mexico. The candidate will also aid with field work and sample processing at DISL and GBNERR. The complete project description for this effort is available at http://ecosystemslab.disl.org
Applicants must hold an earned Ph.D. and be fluent in written and spoken English. To apply, submit a letter of application, CV, concise statement of research interests (max. 2 pages), and the names and contact information for at least three references to Dr. Just Cebrian by e-mail (jcebrian@disl.org ) or postal mail (Dauphin Island Sea Lab, 101 Bienville Blvd., Dauphin Island, AL 36528, USA).
