The Estuarium at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab will be CLOSED all day on Saturday, November 2, 2013 to prepare for the Seafood, Science & Celebrity Event - The Red, White & Brown Ball: A Celebration of Alabama’s Gulf Shrimp. It will re-open to normal operating hours on Sunday, November 3, from 1pm to 5pm.
The South Mobile County Tourism Authority will present this event at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab & Estuarium on Saturday, November 2, 2013, 6-10 pm. Martie Duncan, the Food Network star, will be hosting this spectacular ball.
Martie is creating the event in her unique style with inspired cuisine, creative cocktails and up-close and personal cooking demonstrations from some of her favorite chefs. In tribute to the red, white and brown shrimp found in Alabama Gulf waters, the evening will be a celebration of Gulf shrimp and all the natural beauty Dauphin Island has to offer. Guests will sample and compare the three varieties of Gulf shrimp and enjoy a tasting menu of award-winning shrimp recipes prepared by the chefs who will also teach guests how to make these recipes at home.
