Oct 15, 2009
The 6th Annual Alabama Coastal BirdFest is this week, October 15-18, 2009. Bird lovers from across the country will be flocking to coastal Alabama for this 4-day event! In addition to presentations by photographers, artists and other special guests, there are a wealth of outdoor activities for birders of all types in which to participate. The Dauphin Island Sea Lab will be hosting boat tours aboard the A.E. Verrill on Thursday and Friday. Discovery Hall Program educators will take participants into the Gulf of Mexico to get a close-up view of many of our coastal avian species, including Black Skimmer, Brown Pelican, Double-crested Cormorant and multiple species of Tern. |
Guests will also have the opportunity to visit our wonderful Estuarium after their trip in the Gulf. On Saturday, October 17, docents with the Discovery Hall Programs will be in Fairhope with our exciting “touch table” for more BirdFest activities!
